Cranberry Rolo Appetizer

We discovered this a few week ago while making our favorite Pretzel Rolo M&M snacks. We love caramel cranberries and thought this technique would be an easier way to make them.

We were right! The salty pretzel with the sweet caramel and chocolate were the perfect combination for tart fresh berries. Bonus was finding football shaped pretzels to use. 🏈🔴
Give it a try!

Directions & Ingredients

  • -Pretzels

  • -Rolos

  • -Fresh Cranberries

Begin by setting your oven to 300°F. Next, line an oven safe dish or pan with pretzels. We were making a halftime appetizer so we grabbed football shaped pretzels. The pretzels that you will want to use need to be square or circular shaped rather than rods. During the holidays circular pretzels come out and would work great.

The most time consuming part of this appetizer is opening the rolos. After you open enough to cover the pretzels set them in the center of each pretzel. I like to put the indented side up so that it provides a little nest for the cranberry.

After all the rolos are in place put the oven safe dish into a 300°F oven for 2 mins. It will not take long for the rolos to warm enough to easily squish. Remove the dish and carefully place the cranberries on top of the rolos. Give them a little push to secure them in the chocolate and caramel. The push will also secure the pretzel to the rolo so the trio will stay together.

Finally, allow them to cool in a refrigerator for about 20 mins and enjoy!

The kids enjoy these so much they made a tutorial on Instagram. Check it out!
